I started training in Taiji two months ago. In that time, I noticed I started transmitting energy.
What I mean by this is that energy moves from me to the other person. Right now the effect is quite benign. This means that there isn’t enough energy – or level of energy – to create actual disruption in the other person’s body. I cannot knock someone down or make them buckle their knees or feet at will. I imagine it will take a year or two before that force really starts manifesting itself.
However, even this transmission is a really good start. I now understand what the goal of internal energy is. It is to reach that level of power that you are truly able to produce effortless movement. In my Taiji experience, internal energy boils down to two things: sinking the chi and mobilizing the chi. It is of utmost important to pursue these things.
I really believe that this is a much faster and proven path for achieving internal prowess. I am already seeing results and it has only been two months. I admit that my years of martial arts have assisted me in achieving this level faster. Also my sadhanas or spiritual practices may have assisted as well. However one of my students has started showing signs of transmitting energy. It takes some effort for him to send energy but he is certainly able to do it. Progression of this act is gradual but certain.
For me, the journey nowadays is clearer than it has ever been. However it is a bit slow. Still though, it is not practical to attain mastery in days or hours. If mastery were to come that quickly, there is a good chance that it would retreat just as quickly.
