Greetings! My name is Sunny Parekh. I have been training in Wing Chun for 8 years and teaching for almost 6 years. My method is the most interesting one you will find!
Out of all the Wing Chun styles available, I chose the CST method of Wing Chun. To me, it is the most fascinating because of its practical use of internal power. This internal power is quite simple and straightforward to use. I, myself, am always seeking a simpler and faster method of training and transmitting this information. It does take time but I feel the benefits outweigh [training in] purely external martial arts.
To state my Taiji Sifu: “External means outside. Internal means inside.” We are aware of ourselves. We do not concern ourselves with the opponent. If we are well off, they will be affected. But if we focus on them, we may or may not affect them at all.
The internal method brings greater sensitivity to the body and mind. This sensitivity is enhanced by spiritual pursuits. That is why this internal method is much more fulfilling than external arts.
Once you do internal martial arts, you have a tendency to connect with different uses of energy. By this, I mean different forms of internal martial arts, healing methods, and/or different types of meditations.
From internal Wing Chun, I moved on to internal Taiji (Tai Chi) and found (am still finding) it to be useful in building my internal condition. I then moved on to various types of healing techniques:
- Pranic Healing,
- Access Bars,
- and my favorite one: Invocative Healing via the Sahasrara, Forehead, Ajna, and/ or Anahata chakras.
My own pursuit has led me to various spiritual endeavors:
- Trataka
- Vipassana
- Yogada Satsang
- Siddhyoga (Deroli)
- Arhatic Yoga
- Inner Engineering & Kriya Yoga
- and most recently The Dada Bhagwan Foundation.
From my Kung Fu to my Healing to my Spiritual Endeavours, I find that I am growing, developing improving as a person each day.
If you are interested, then you can try a single month. I cannot give you more than that to test the waters. Your interest has led you thus far but it is inconsequential if you do not concretize your interest.
