Wing Chun passed from Grandmaster Ip Man to a select few who carried the art to its highest refinement. Master Chu Shong Tin stands apart — he developed internal power through the first form alone to a degree unseen in the tradition.

This is the lineage we practice at The Wing Chun Club. Not sport martial arts. Not performance. Internal power, structure, and intention — as Ip Man’s most devoted student intended.

The CST method is characterized by its deep focus on the Siu Nim Tao (little idea form) as a vehicle for developing internal energy. Master Chu believed the entire system of Wing Chun could be accessed through this first form alone, if practiced with proper intention and structural awareness.

About Master Chu Shong Tin

Master Chu Shong Tin was one of Ip Man’s earliest and most dedicated students in Hong Kong. Beginning his training in the 1950s, he eventually surpassed all peers in the development of internal power through Wing Chun’s open-hand forms.

He taught for decades in Hong Kong, passing on the internal aspects of Wing Chun that are often overlooked in more commercially-oriented schools. His approach was rooted in mind, structure, and intention rather than force.

The CST lineage is defined by its commitment to nim lik — intention power. Rather than drilling applications and sparring, CST practitioners develop internal structure first, trusting that technique becomes accessible once the body understands how to generate and conduct energy.
